DEEP ROOTS. MODERN PLATFORM.

Who built Canopy. And why it matters.

There are teams that research an industry before building for it, and teams that build from inside it. Canopy’s founders have built, scaled, and sold technology companies before: one that grew to serve millions of users, another that ran the daily operations of a demanding, specialized industry.

Different markets, one discipline: software that has to be reliable, easy to use, and built to last. And the game isn’t new to us: one of those companies spent years at the highest levels of professional golf, and we’ve spent our lives in the sport as players, guests, and members of the community Canopy serves. Proven technology and real roots in the game is a rare combination, and it shows up in Canopy’s details, not its feature list.

THE TRACK RECORD

Built and scaled before.

That kind of experience only matters if it shows up in the product. Club software tends to fail in the particulars: the booking rule nobody anticipated, the billing case that breaks at month-end, the workflow that assumes every club is the same. Getting those right takes technical depth and a real feel for how a club runs.

Canopy wasn’t rushed to market: the people behind it have built and sold serious software before, including in aviation, where the daily operation can’t stop. They built it to that same standard - solid enough to carry a club’s entire day, not just impress in a demo. What stands behind Canopy comes down to three things.

Technology at scale

Founders who have built, scaled, and sold technology companies before: one that grew to serve millions of users, another that ran the daily operations of a specialized industry. We know what it takes to build software that holds up, because we’ve done it and seen it through to the other side.

Golf and club industry depth

A lifetime inside the sport, as players, guests, and members, plus a National Advisory Council of leading GMs and golf professionals: 100+ years combined, in the room for the design.

Conviction backed by investment

More than two years of development and serious capital before the first club goes live - because the platform had to be genuinely good before we put it in front of clubs. Canopy launches this fall. It was built inside working clubs for two years, and interest from clubs asking to be next has been strong.

BUILT WITH THE INDUSTRY

Shaped by the people who run clubs like yours

From the earliest stages of development, we worked alongside an advisory panel of active Directors of Golf, General Managers, and industry leaders whose careers represent some of the most respected names in the club world, across private, semi-private, resort, and public-facing operations.

They didn’t review a finished product. They were in the room when the design decisions were made, bringing the kind of firsthand operational knowledge that only comes from running clubs at the highest level. That’s the difference between a platform informed by the industry and one built by it.

Every major workflow decision: how a tee sheet handles a complex booking, how billing flows across departments, how a GM sees club performance without pulling a report. Each was shaped by people who have done those things professionally, at clubs that demand a high standard.

WHAT THAT EXPERTISE PRODUCED

Six areas where deep knowledge changes what gets built

The difference between software that technically covers club management and software that actually works for clubs shows up in the details: the operational realities that only surface when the people building the platform have spent time inside one. Here is where that knowledge shows up most clearly.

1

Complete member and guest management

Managing members and guests well requires more than a database. It requires understanding the full picture of how a club relationship works: the layered membership categories and pricing rules, the activity and preference history that makes personal service possible, the flexibility to handle dozens of membership types and billing structures without manual workarounds.

Canopy builds rich, 360-degree profiles that capture everything staff need to serve members and guests well, with flexible membership structures and automations that handle the administrative complexity so staff don’t have to.

2

Reservations and events that connect to billing automatically

Every amenity - golf, courts, dining, spa, fitness, and events - is bookable from one system. But the deeper capability is what happens after the booking: orders are created automatically when a reservation is made, so staff don't re-enter information that's already in the system.

At the end of a round, pro shop staff can close an entire portion of the tee sheet in one action. After an event, member accounts are billed automatically from the event record. Hours of manual billing and reconciliation that used to happen after the fact simply don't happen on Canopy.

3

A point of sale designed for speed and built for inventory

The POS interface was designed for the moments that happen dozens of times per shift: a pro shop checkout, a dining order, a beverage cart transaction. Fewer clicks and a cleaner, faster experience than traditional club systems.

Canopy also includes a full scanner-based inventory management system: staff use barcode scanners to manage stock, run guided audit sessions, and track inventory in real time across every outlet. The result is faster service at the counter and tighter inventory control behind it, without separate software or manual spreadsheets.

4

Billing that's a review, not a project - and members who can self-serve

In a connected system where every transaction posts to the right member account in real time, month-end stops being an assembly project and becomes a review. Dues, F&B minimums, event charges, and assessments all run on the club's configured schedule.

Members can view their statements and make payments through the member portal without calling the office. The work that finance teams used to spend on manual data entry and reconciliation is largely eliminated. Not improved, eliminated.

5

Mobile apps that connect staff and members to the club from anywhere

We identified early that the gap between what clubs needed from mobile and what most platforms offered was significant. Canopy includes dedicated native apps for both staff and members, designed for how each audience actually uses a mobile device - not web pages wrapped for a phone screen.

Staff manage operations, access member context, coordinate with teammates, and process transactions from anywhere on property. Members book reservations, manage their account, stay connected with club communications, and access everything the club offers, from their phone, on their schedule.

6

Technology built for speed, reliability, and continuous improvement

Canopy runs on modern cloud-native infrastructure built from scratch: no legacy codebase, no inherited constraints. The platform is fast, reliable, and improves continuously: new features and improvements ship on an ongoing basis without update cycles, downtime, or action required from the club.

The GM’s dashboard, the finance team’s billing view, and the pro shop checkout all draw from the same real-time data layer, so the picture leadership sees is always current. Because that data lives in one place, AI can work across all of it: describe the report you need in plain language and Canopy builds it. It’s the same applied AI that helps draft member communications, put to work on the club’s numbers.
